Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Caribbean start Darren Sammy will play for Rangpur Riders in this BPL. Rangpur will take on Chittagong in the BPL opener today and Sammy is looking forward to play with Shakib.
On Saturday the West Indies all-rounder Sammy practiced for the first time before their match on Sunday. After the practice he talked to the media.
He said, "I am looking forward to play with Shakib. I had an opportunity to play with him for Saint Lucia. But finally that did not happen. Shakib could not go there."
Sammy believes Shakib can perform better anywhere of the world as he said, "Shakib is a fantastic cricketer. Not only in Bangladesh but also he plays better in anywhere of the world. He is very experienced in T20."
Rangpur have some big name in their team like Shakib, Misbah, Simmons, Sammy, Wahab Riaz and some young talented local players like Soumya Sarkar. Sammy was amazed with the young players and hopes they can do better as a team.
He said, "Misbah, Lendl Simmons and I are there. Besides, I am feeling very good watching the young talented local players. This is very good. But we will not to play on papers. Hope we play better together. We get couple of days here. Hope we can execute the plans what we will fix within this period."
The Caribbean blood also mentioned this BPL will be more exiting and he wants to contribute more to team's win.
'I think this BPL will be better than the previous one. Many players from different countries came to play. I am also looking forward to play wearing my new jersey. I want to present win to the team doing something better," he added.
