In a rare demonstration of expressing unanimity the lawmakers in the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday welcomed the execution of defamed war criminals, BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed.
When the Parliament resumed Sunday, taking floor the lawmakers opined that the execution of these notorious perpetrators of violation of human rights during 1971 War of Liberation met the expectation of the people relieved the nation of a black spot in its history
They univocally praised the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who not only incorporated in the election manifesto of Awami League the issue of trial of war criminals but also materialized that pledge despite mounting pressure from home and abroad.
During the session Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present at the House.
Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya in his speech said that I am so much delighted after hearing the news of execution of verdict of two war criminals and it has proved that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does what she says.
"Today I want to tell the people of the country in  loud voice that no war criminals, Razakars, Al-Badr and anti- liberation forces will be able to raise their heads if Sheikh Hasina is alive," Maya said.
AL lawmaker Shamsul Haque Chowdhury said, "Yesterday evening we thought that verdict is going to be suspended but it was executed. It is proved that she will break but not crumble."
Nazrul Islam Babu said, "Today the whole Bangladesh is delighted as the verdict of war criminals has been executed. Through execution of verdict it is proved that good governance prevails in Bangladesh and Prime Minister has kept her commitment to the country's people."
