A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed five people on a four-day remand each in connection with the abduction and killing of a sexagenarian Japanese woman in the capital.
Metropolitan magistrate Snigdha Rani Chakraborty passed the remand order as police produced the accused before the court seeking
10 days' remand for each.
The accused are--Maruful Islam, Rashedul Haque Bappi, Fakhrul Islam, Jahangir Hossain and Dr. Bimal Chandra Shil.
Japanese national Heroi Miata, 61, was kidnapped on 26 August. Later, she found dead on October 29 at a residential hotel in capital's
Uttara area, police said.
Later, another person introducing him as her grandson buried Heroi Miata at Uttara.
Police instructor of Uttara thana Mizanur Rahman filed a murder case on November 22 in this connection.
