'India to cooperate with BD to promote blue economy' Thai Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Virasakdi Futrakul has highly commended Bangladesh for its 'robust leadership' on the blue economy and climate change resilience. Other speakers, including UNESCAP Executive Secretary Dr Shamshad Akhtar, also lauded Bangladesh's leadership at a regional consultation in Bangkok on Monday, according to a message received here on Tuesday. Bangladesh Embassy in Thailand and Asia Directorate of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) jointly arranged the event titled 'A thematic consultation on Blue Economy for Climate Change Resilience: Towards Partnerships and Collaborations.' Virasakdi Futrakul, while inaugurating the one-day meeting, said, "Today, one of our tasks is to find ways and means to make these regional groupings [IORA, ASEAN, SAARC, APEC] collaborate towards a partnership that is beneficial and responsible to the global community." ?UNB
