Abducted minor girl found dead in N'ganj

NARAYANGANJ, Nov 27: Police recovered the body of a minor girl, who had allegedly been abducted by miscreants on Wednesday, from near her house at Girda Chowdhurypara village in Araihazar upazila of the district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rupa, 5, daughter of Hazrat Ali, hailing from the same village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Araihazar police station said a group of miscreants allegedly abducted the girl on Wednesday noon while she was playing in a field near her house.
Police arrested one Rabbi, 16, in this connection.
Late at night, the abductors demanded Tk 3.6 lakh from the victim's father as ransom over phone.
Hazrat Ali refused to give them the ransom money and informed police of the matter.
On Friday morning, locals informed police after noticing Rupa's body near her house.
A case was filed in this connection, added the OC.
