'Digital Education System' has been introduced at Junior Secondary High School at Mirpur in Dhaka on last Friday.
Country's renowned IT expert and inventor of Bijoy Bangla Software Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the programme at the school campus.
"The students of class from I to III will be able to enjoy the advantages of digital education system along with the modern technology," Mustafa Jabbar said.
He also said the government had taken various pragmatic steps to build up a "Digital Bangladesh" and it had done for the modernisation of the existing education system to create skilled manpower with international standards.
Jabbar mentioned that government in the meantime set up about 23,500 educational institutions including both primary and secondary schools across the country.
He hoped that if the modern education system could be properly utilized in all educational institutions, the new generation would be able to lead the country with outstanding performance.
Earlier, a discussion on "Digitization in Bangladesh" was held with Principal Alamgir Hossain Helal in the chair. Among others Chief Executive Officer of Bijoy Digital and presenter of Bangladesh Television Jasmin Jui, Principal of Mirpur English Version School and College Yahia Khan Rijon, Senior Reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Md Sahidul Islam Rana, Adviser of the School Md Shahjahan Munsi, and Headmaster of Modhu Bepari High School Meer Abdul Malek spoke on the occasion.
An exhibition on 'Digital Education System' was also screened on the occasion.
