Former minister and MP, reputed educationist and social worker, Board of Trustees of Bangladesh University and founder of numerous educational institutions and social organisations, Mr Atauddin Khan breathed his last yesterday at 7.30 am at his own residence in Mohammadpur (Innalillah ? raziun). He was 88 years old and died of old age. His 'Namaz e Janaza' was held at the premises of Mohammadpur Preparatory School after 'Zohr' prayer yesterday. Mr Khan rendered service as an elected Member of the Parliament of erstwhile East Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively in 1965 and 1979. He was also the founder-president of Greater Dhaka Lions Club and a lifetime member of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and Dhaka Diabetic Association.
