Around 48 Bangladeshi human trafficking victims, who were rescued by the Myanmar authorities in May, will be brought
back home on Wednesday after a flag meeting between the border guards of the two countries.
They will return home through Ghundum border point in Naikhyongchhari upazila of Bandarban district.
Earlier, 729 Bangladeshi human trafficking victims were brought back home from Myanmar in six phases this year.
The present group was part of the victims of human trafficking through the Indian Ocean region who were rescued by the Myanmar authorities in different times.
Contacted, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Chittagong Region Commander Brig General Habibul Karim confirmed it saying that 48 Bangladeshi human trafficking victims are scheduled to be repatriated from Myanmar through the Friendship Bridge of Ghundum border point in Naikhyongchhari on Wednesday noon.
