
Syed Wahidul Islam, a freedom fighter, was declared dead at a local hospital around 11:30 pm after he had been rushed there as he was found seriously ill.
He had been suffering form old-age complications for long.
Syed Wahidul Islam, acting president of the Kishoreganj district unit of AL, is survived by three sons, five daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Advocate Syed Ashraful Islam Titu, son of Syed Wahidul Islam, said the first namaz-e-janaza of his father will be held at Shaheedi Masque in the district town after Johr prayers while the second janaza will be held at their village Bir Dampara after Asr prayers.
Wahidul Islam will be buried in their family graveyard there.
President Abdul Hamid expressed deep shock at the death of Wahidul Islam.
Abdul Hamid also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
UNB Kishoreganj correspondent quoting the deceased’s family source said Ashraful Islam will attend both the janaza and burial of his uncle.
