BGB seizes statues worth Tk 2cr in Benapole

Jessore: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday morning seized smuggled statues worth Tk about 2 crore raiding Benapole check post, Subedar Ayub Hossain, in-charge of Benapole BGB camp said.

He also said that raiding Benapole frontier the BGB men seized 60 Krishna and Radha  and 70 casting statues, 5 kilograms of Chandan wood and 80 kilograms of Multani soil at around 11am on Saturday.

The BGB earlier on Friday night seized 150 kilograms of Chandal wood.

"Worth of the seized statues and other goods would be Tk about 2 crore", said a BGB official.  

None was arrested in this regard.
