At least five persons were injured, including a student bullet-hit, during a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student front of ruling Awami League, on the Islamic University campus in Kushtia on Thursday.
The bullet injured student was identified as Saidur Rahman Babu of Islamic History and Culture Department of the university. He was admitted to the Kustia Sadar Hospital.
Other injured are Noman Robin, Shishir Islam Babu, Ataur Rahman, Sagar and Halim.
Witnesses said, police rushed at the place of incident immediately and brought the situation in control.
Additional police forces were deployed on the campus as a tense situation was prevailing till filing of the report.
Our correspondent from Kushtia reports that the clash between supporters of two groups - one loyal to university unit president and another belongs to vice-president, got into a clash over establishing supremacy and cancellation of a recruitment committee.
No one was arrested in this connection.
