5 killed in road accidents

At least five people were killed in separate road accidents in four districts - Habiganj, Bhola, Madaripur and Sylhet on Sunday and Monday.
HABIGANJ: A schoolboy was crushed under the wheels of a bus on the Habiganj-Shayestaganj road on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahan Miah, 6, student of Class III. He was the son of Tahir Miah.
Local people said, a Habiganj-bound bus ran over Shahan when he was crossing the road around 9:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Shayestaganj Police Station Yasinul Haque said the body was handed over to victim's family member.
BHOLA: A minor boy was killed in a road accident near Kartarhat Bazaar area on the Bhola-Charfassion road under Lalmohan upazila here on Sunday night.
He was identified as Arafat, 5, son of Jamal Uddin of the village and a student of Class I at Janata Bazaar Kindergarten.
Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmohan Police Station, Akteruzzaman said a diesel-run three-wheeler hit Arafat from behind at 8pm while he was returning home from
market. 
Locals rushed him to Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex where duty-doctor declared him dead.
The body was sent to Bhola Hospital for an autopsy, the OC added.
MADARIPUR: At least two persons were killed in a road accident at Sanerpar under Rajoir upazila here on Sunday.
They were identified as Prodip Kumer Sarkar, 40, field supervisor of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), and Shokthinath Kirtonia, 55, former principal of Muksudpur Bangaratna College.
Police and locals said, a speedy bus bound for Dhaka of Sakura Paribahan collided head-on with a motorbike carrying the two deceased at Sanerpar area, leaving them dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajoir Police Station Md Anower Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed the fact and said, police seized the bus from the spot, but its driver managed to flee.
The bodies were brought to Madaripur Sadar Police Station.
A case was under process till filing this report.          
SYLHET: A Saudi expatriate was killed in a road accident in Dhamaichhara area of Rajnagar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Kutub Uddin, 45, a resident of Mallickpur village of Fenchuganj upazila in Sylhet and a Saudi expatriate.
Family sources said the accident took place in the area in the evening as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying him collided with another one while he was returning from a marriage ceremony; he was critically injured in the accident.
Later, he was rushed to Sylhet Ibn Sina Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 12am.
