A court in Narayanganj set February 8 for the hearing on the indictment in Narayanganj seven murders.

District and Sessions Judge's Court deferred the hearing as the defence pleaded for time.

bdnews24.com adds, bails were denied to 11 suspects, including prime suspect Nur Hossain during Wednesday’s hearing, said Additional Public Prosecutor KM Fazlur Rahman.

The court was expected to hear the matter on January 11, but it had rescheduled for Wednesday as one of the suspects could not be produced before it then due to illness.

Seven men, including Narayanganj City Councillor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar, were abducted on April 27 in 2014. Their bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya River several days later.

Families of the slain councillor and lawyer filed two separate cases over the killings.

On April 8 last year, police pressed charges against 35 people, including Councillor Nur Hossain and three ex-officials of the Narayanganj-based RAB unit.
