Bangladesh upgrades two steps

Bangladesh have been upgraded two steps and placed 177th on the newly published FIFA world ranking on Thursday.
Earlier on December 3, the Bengal boys jointly placed at 182nd with Chinese Taipei and were promoted to 179th on January 7 this year by the world football governing body.
The top ten countries of the previous ranking table were still leading the new ranking.
Belgium were at the top of the table and Argentina, Spain, Germany, Chile, Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, England and Austria followed then.
According to the new ranking table, Palestine, a continuous sufferer of war and conflicts, were named the best mover in February. The Palestinians had upgraded 21 steps.
Among the Middle East countries, Saudi Arabia moved 20 steps up to place 55th.
On the other hand, Libya who downgraded 24 steps to place 131st was named the worst mover.
Other than Bangladesh, two other SAFF countries, Nepal and India upgraded their status. Nepal did the best move in SAFF region. They went eight steps up to places them at the 188th place while India were placed 162nd with one step up.
Islamic Republic of Iran, the 44th on the table, were leading the AFC region like the past while Australia, the Socceeroes, were demoted nine steps to be at the 68th place.
