Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in the third place deciding match of the ICC U-19 World Cup 2016 today at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Host Bangladesh were the one of the most favourite teams of this World Cup but they lost the semi-final by three wicket to West Indies.
On the others hand Sri Lanka lost the first semi-final to India by huge 97 runs.
For Bangladesh this is the best ever performance. In 2006 Bangladesh become fifth under the captaincy of Mushfiq, which was the previous best result of Bangladesh in U-19 World Cup.
Bangladesh started the tournament with a hope to do something bigger and they also played the matches confidently. But losing to West Indies in the semi-final their dream was broken on February 11.
As Bangladesh were outplayed from the race of becoming best two they are taking the third place deciding match seriously.
After losing the semi-final Bangladesh skipper Mehedi Hasan Miraz said, "The third-place match is also important as it would mean we would be among the top five of the Test-playing nations in this competition."
It is confirmed that the Lankan youth will also show zero tolerance to win the match. If Sri Lanka won the match it will be their second best performance as they become runner-up in 2000 and fourth in 2010.
