Thakurgaon boiler blast victim dies at DMCH

Thakurgaon: A worker, who received severe injuries in a rice-mill boiler explosion here on Sunday, died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Lokman Ali, son of late Shukur Uddin of Damole village in Haripur upazila.

Victim’s family members said trader Shawkat Ali of Ranahatta village hired Lokman to boil rice on Sunday.

The explosion took place around 1pm when Lokman was working adjacent to the boiler, leaving him seriously injured.

He was taken to Haripur Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and finally to the DMCH for better treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital around 10am on Friday.
