ATM card forgery
Foreigner, 3 City Bank officials held

Police have detained four people, including a foreigner, from city's Gulshan diplomatic zone area in connection with recent ATM card frauds.

Detective branch of police said, the foreigner is identified as-- Piotr Szczepan Mazurek. He is a German national. He has also Poland passport naming Thomas Piter.

Three City Bank officials are--Maksed Alam, Rezaul Karim and Refaz Ahmed.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Monirul Islam, also the chief of Counter Terrorism And Transnational Crime Unit, said these on Monday at a press briefing held at Dhaka Metropolitan Police Media Centre.

DIG said, they were arrested from Piotr's Gulshan residence and different places of the capital on Sunday night.

In primary interrogation, Piotr said that they are involved in forgery for a long time. A Bangladeshi, a Bulgarian and a Ukrainian are also connected with him in this work.

Some other bank officials are involved in this group, DB said.

Recently miscreants withdrew Tk 80,000 from different ATM booths in the capital through forgery.
