The International Federa-tion of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) has honoured Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with "special certificate and crest" for her outstanding success in "disaster management". IFRC Secretary General Elhadj As Sey formally handed over the certificate and the crest to the Premier at a simple ceremony at her official Ganabhaban residence on Sunday, a press release of the Prime Minister's Press Wing said on Tuesday. At the function, the IFRC Secretary General highly appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her leading role in the global efforts for developing 100 crore "disaster-hit people" of the world as "more tolerant" to disaster by 2025. Director of the IFRC Asia Pacific Region Xavier Castellanos, Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar and Vice-Chairman Dr Habibe Millat, MP, were present on the occasion, among others.
