Sunamganj clash leaves two dead

SUNAMGANJ, Mar 9: Two people were killed and 15 others injured during arbitration in Dirai upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Afiz Ullah, 65, son of late Kacha Miah, and Nur Ahmed, 30, son of Abdul Haque of Kalinagar village in the upazila.
Police and locals said a youth, Nahid, damaged the battery-run auto-rickshaw of Jewel Miah of the village 10-12 days ago which went to arbitration.
The arbitration with the local UP member in the chair on Wednesday asked Nahid to pay Tk 20,000 as compensation which he accepted.  However, Jewel demanded Tk 50,000. At one stage, two groups locked into a clash over the issue.    ?UNB
