Satkhira: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested two customs sepoys along with 6,000 Indian rupees while collecting toll from goods-laden trucks at Bhomra land port here on Thursday night.
The arrestees were identified as Firoj Hossain and Motin, sepoys of Bhomra land port customs.
BGB sources said some 300 goods-laden trucks entered Bangladesh from India through the port on Thursday. The sepoys were collecting 20-30 rupees from each truck, said Subedar Nur Hossain of the intelligence wing of BGB battalion-38.
At one stage, the BGB intelligence team arrested them along with the extorted money from the zero point area of the port around 10:30am.
A case was filed in this connection.
