The
government has urged the Bangladeshi expatriates, living in North
African country Libya, to get machine readable passports (MRPs) quickly
from Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli. The Foreign Ministry here also
urged the broadcast media outlets in Bangladesh to continuously display
the message as a scroll, particularly on Friday and Saturday, as these
two days are weekly holidays in Libya. A Foreign Ministry official on
Sunday said Bangladeshi expatriates can watch some Bangladeshi private
television channels in Libya as it will help them get the message fast. Some 50,000 Bangladeshi expatriates are working at different sectors in Libya, according to an unofficial estimate. Earlier,
the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, Libya asked Bangladesh nationals
living there to limit their movement and remain alert to avoid any
unexpected incident as trouble-torn North African country sees
violence. ?UNB
