Bangladesh Olympic Association on Wednesday observed the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace (IDSDP) in the country. The day was declared as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace by the UN General Assembly on August 19, 2013 to use the potency of sports for a batter world. The sporting sector have a positive influence that can be use for the advancement of human rights and social and economic development. The day was first observed on April 6, 2014 and it was the third IDSDP observed this year. Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Syed Shahed Reza along with Edward Rees, the Peace and Development Advisor, Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Dhaka was present in the day observation programme.
