Problem
Dear Sir, I am a student of Civil Engineering. My dreamland is Canada. Could you please tell me how can I proceed?

Solution
Thanks for your question. Your subject has a good demand in Canada. Since you are a graduate student, you must try to achieve a good CGPA in the Bachelor degree. To do MS at the Canadian universities, you need, at least, a CGPA score of 3.00 (scale 4.00). After your Bachelor degree, please write directly to the professors of the universities. You should mention that you are interested in doing MS degree under his/her supervision. During your Bachelor degree, try to do project/research works and that will greatly help you in finding a good scholarship.
International students need IELTS or TOEFL for pursuing MS programme in the Canadian universities. A band of 6.5 to 7.0 is required in IELTS or 90 to 100 score is required in TOEFL (iBT).
At present, Canada has 98 well reputed universities. Three Canadian universities are very famous in the world and have been placed in the list of the best 100 universities in the world announced by the Times Higher Education. These universities are: University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, and McGill University.
At present several lakhs international students are studying in the Canadian universities but Canada wants to double the number of its international students. The government estimates that recruiting more international students could generate more new jobs in Canada and will add an additional 10 billion dollar to the domestic economy each year.
Canadian universities have a good demand of science and engineering students for research based degree such as MS and PhD. Generally professors are getting funds for research from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), private industries, and other sources. Actually, professors have huge funds for research. So, Bangladeshi students should try to get scholarships for their higher studies in Canada. Moreover, students can do 20 hours part time job and their spouse can do full time work.
The amount of scholarship is good enough for the students. Generally, scholarship of 12 to 18 thousand Canadian dollars per annum is offered for MS students. All the best for my beloved Bangladeshi students who would like to go to Canada for higher education with scholarship.
