Professor Dr. Munaz Ahmed Noor joined Islamic University of Technology (IUT), a subsidiary organ of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as the Vice-Chancellor on 1st April, 2016 on being appointed by the Secretary General of the 57-nation OIC on the recommendation of the Government of Bangladesh.
Before joining IUT, he served as pro-vice-chancellor of National University in a very innovative and dynamic way. He authored a number of books and has a large number of publications in international journals. He is a vice president of Alternative and Sustainable Energy Foundation and also of Bangladesh Earthquake Society. He is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh. He is also the member of "Digital Bangladesh Task force" headed by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He received Phd degree from University of Tokyo in 2000. Earlier he earned his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from BUET.
