UGC probe committee to reach IU today

A four-member probe committee headed by UGC Member Professor Dr M Shah Nowaz Ali of University Grants Commission (UGC) will reach at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia today for investigating the illegality and corruption of the university's recruitments, registrar office sources said.
The committee includes UGC Director of Finance and Accounts M Mizanur Rahman as member, UGC Assistant Director of Public Management Department Robiul Islam as secretary and another UGC Additional Director of Public Management Department as secretary, sources added.
As part of the investigation, they will meet with the IU VC Professor Dr Abdul Hakim Sarker, Pro-VC Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and several teachers forum as needed. They can also audit any documents and secured records of the university include the decisions of syndicate and other committees.
The probe committee is asked to submit the thorough investigation reports to the UGC authority as soon as possible.
