Cyclone alert: Ctg port asked to hoist danger signal 7

Maritime port of Chittagong has been advised to hoist cautionary signal no 7 as cyclonic storm ‘Roanu’ over west central Bay and adjoining area moved slightly north-northeastward over the same area.

Meanwhile, maritime port of Cox's Bazar has been asked to hoist danger signal No six while Mongla and Payra Maritime ports to five, according to a Met office sources.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-northeasterly direction, the sources said.

Rain of thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong & Sylhet divisions with heavy to very heavy falls at places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong & Sylhet divisions, triggered by the cyclone.
