Priest murder: 2 Indian officials visit killing spot

Jhenidah: Two officials of Indian High Commission have visited the scene where Hindu priest Ananda Gopal Ganguli was hacked to death.

Indian High Commission's First Secretary Rajesh Ukhaia and Consular Ramakanta Gupta reached Mohishavagar area of Sonakhali village in sadar upazila around 11:00am on Wednesday.

During their visit, they talked with the family members of the assassinated priest.

District Police Super Altaf Hossain, Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad central president Jayanta Sen Dipu, joint secretary general Nirmal Chatarjee, Jhenidah Hindu-Buddhist-Christan Oikya Parishad general secretary Subir Kumar Samaddar and Puja Udjapan Parishad central leader Kanak Kanti Das were also present there.

The priest was chopped and slaughtered to death by unknown miscreants while he was heading to a temple for worship on Tuesday.
