CHITTAGONG, June 10: Police have detained a young man for his suspicious activities near a demonstration seeking justice for Mahmuda Aktar Mitu, the murdered wife of a militant-busting police officer, at Chittagong City.
Two knives have been found on Md Ibrahim, 23, from Tangail, they say.
Kotwali Police Station OC Jasim Uddin said a police patrol challenged Ibrahim when he was suspiciously wandering on a rickshaw on the street opposite the human-chain demonstration in front of the Press Club on Friday afternoon.
"Police detained him when he tried to flee on being asked to stop. Two knives were found in his bag on the rickshaw," he said.
The OC said police were interrogating Ibrahim.
