Aung Rakhine the director of first indigenous language based film "The Bicycle" has taken another homegrown film to international market. His second film a short one in terms of length has been selected in the Locarno International Film Festival. The film titled "The Last Post Office" will be screened in the Open Doors section. The film would get its world premiere in the festival. Two more films from Bangladesh, one short and one full in length will also be screened. They are Mahdi Hasan's "A Death of Reader" and Abdullah Mohammad Saad's full length featurrette "Live from Dhaka." The festival will start from August 1 and run for eleven days.

The Last Post Office as the name suggests relates to the dying heritage of postal services in the country. In the film one such subsidiary of this system has been depicted as it struggles to find means of sustenance. Still its employees- two postmasters and a postman are seen continuing their work with pleasure.
