Fakhrul conveys Khaleda's greetings to Hindus
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday conveyed party chairperson Khaleda Zia's greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion of Durga Puja.
"On behalf of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, I'm here to convey her greetings to you on the occasion of Durga Puja. Let us build beautiful Bangladesh by protecting rights of all irrespective of party and views," he said while visiting Dhakeshwari National Temple around 7 pm.
In his brief speech, Fakhrul urged the Hindu community members to pray so that God keeps Bangladesh safe and blesses its people.
The BNP leader said people of all communities have been living in the country for thousands of years maintaining communal harmony and fraternity.
He said, "We fought with the Pakistani occupation forces in 1971 for our liberation, protecting our rights and building our future. We want to build the country as a true non-communal, progressive, democratic and rich one."
