Accused of auto driver murder case held |
Accused Khairul Islam Shakil Police arrested the prime accused of auto-rickshaw driver Rashed killing case within 13 days of the incident from Ghulpasha Union, Chauddagram Upazila in Cumilla on Tuesday. The arrested is Khairul Islam Shakil, resident of Dhanusara village of Ghulpasha Union, Chauddagram Upazila. Jahidul Islam, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) of Chauddagram circle, in Cumilla, informed this to media at a press conference at Chauddagram Police Station on Wednesday. The deceased was Rashed Mia, son of Mashiur Rahman, a resident of Barghoria village of Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat. Rashed left his rented house for work on January 18 afternoon. Police recovered the body of Rashed with several stab injury marks from the bank of a canal named ‘Boaljuri Khal’ at Shamuksar village of Chauddagram in Cumilla on January 19. Police sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy and later handed it over to family members. Father of the victim Mashiur Rahman filed a murder case on that night against unidentified people. After getting the instruction from Cumilla Police Super Abdul Mannan, police identified Shakil using tech surveillance and CCTV footage of Munshirhat Bazar area. A police team, led by Investigating Officer of this case Mehedi Hasan, conducted a drive at the house of accused Khairul Alam Shakil at Dhanusara village of the upazila and arrested him with a knife used in the killing.
