Woman gets life term for drug smuggling |

Joypurhat Additional district and Session Judge court-2 Judge Abbas Uddin pronounced the verdict. The convict is Manjuara Begum, 48, wife of Mojibur Rahman of Birampur upazila in Dinajpur. Public Prosecutor of Joypurhat Judge Court Advocate Nripendranath Mandol confirmed the news. According to the prosecution, Sub-Inspector Mansur Rahman of the Department of Narcotics Control, in Joypurhat, conducted a drive in Bankhur area of the sadar upazila around 4pm on October 10, 2013. After searching a battery-run auto rickshaw, the team found 38 bottles of Phensedyl from the possession of Manjuara. Later she was arrested and a case was filed against her with a court. NY |
