Passenger bus collides with train in city


A speeding train on Wednesday night partially rammed a passenger bus at Malibagh Railgate Area in the capital.

According to witnesses, a Dhaka-bound train from Panchagarh was coming to Kamlapur Railway Station partially rammed Sohag Paribahan's bus at the area at around 9:00pm.

Being informed, police from nearby Shahjahanpur Police Station and firefighters rushed on the spot.

No one was injured in the collision as there were no passengers on the bus at the time, Syedpur, Railway Police assistant sub-inspector and in charge of Drutojaan's security Aminul Islam said.





A Kamalapur-bound commuter train from Gazipur got stuck at the opposite line due to the incident as a result, train services between Dhaka and the rest of the country have been suspended.
