Woman held with 10 kgs hemp in Kushtia

Police in a drive arrested a woman along with 10.7 kilograms of hemp from Kotpara area under Kushtia municipality on Wednesday afternoon.

The arrested is Rupali Begum, 35, a resident of Allardarga area under Daulatpur upazila in the district.

Kushtia Model Police Station officer-in-charge Delwar Hossain Khan said acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid in a hotel of the area and arrested the woman along with the drugs.

A case was filed with the police station against her under Narcotics Control Act and legal steps are under process in this regard, the OC added.
