Le Méridien bosses, staff swap roles for a day |
Customers and clients who frequent Le Méridien Dhaka regularly, were a bit confused to see its General Manager Ashwani Nayar and Human Resource Director Arman Al Huda to work as Doorman and Waiter at the hotel for a day recently.
However they quickly realised that the top bosses have swapped their working roles with the subordinate staff as the hotel held a daylong 'Role Reversal Programme' with their staff and associates. The Role Reversal is an initiative of Le Méridien Dhaka where high performing associates are selected to perform senior management roles for a full working day and vice versa senior management takes on entry level positions. The daylong event was celebrated with top level management playing the roles of Doorman, Bellman, Steward, Waiter, Public Area Attendant and Assistant Technicians, while, the associates played the role of General Manager, Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Housekeeper, Director of Human Resource and various other managerial roles. On this occasion Ashwani Nayar said: "This program offers an aspirational goal to associates as they learn to appreciate the responsibility attached with senior positions in the organization". "The program created a happy working environment among the Associates at all levels and great bonding by recognizing the efforts of those Associates who work at the root level", said Arman Al Huda expressing his experience. Meanwhile a press release said, the management of Le Méridien Dhaka hopes to build in great future leaders who will revive their future aspirational managerial roles by taking top positions and process towards strategical decision makers. |
