Journalist Munajat Uddin remembered

PIROJPUR, Dec 30: The 21st death anniversary of journalist Munajat Uddin was observed at Kawkhali upazila on Friday
In this connection, Kawkhali Press Club organised a recall meeting at local BRDB Hall room in the morning. Riad Mahamud, president of the press club was in the chair while Upazila Chairman SM Ahsanul Kabir attended the meeting as chief guest.
The was addressed, among others, by ex-president of Kawkhali Robiul Hasan Robin, Reporter's Unity President Enamul Haque, Ratan Kumar Das, Rafiqual Islam Rafiq.
Remembering the role and achievements of Munajat as 'Charon Sangbadik' in developing journalism outside the city and urban areas the speakers said he was one of the best sons of the soil and pioneer of pro-people rural journalism giving a special dimension and importance  to investigative news reporting in the country.
Munajat Uddin met a mysterious death after falling from a ferry in the confluence of the rivers Jamuna-Brahmaputra at Kalasonar Char in Gaibandha on December 29, 1995.
