BSF kills Bangladeshi on Lalmonirhat border

A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force on Hatibandha border of Lalmonirhat early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Shafiqul Islam, 30, son of Ekabbar Ali, resident of Amjhol village of Hatibandha upazila.

Border Guard Bangladesh sources said a group of cattle traders went to India on Friday night to bring cattle.

A patrol team of BSF opened fire on them while they were returning home with cattle, leaving Shafiqul dead on the spot.

BSF members, later, took away Shafiqul’s body.

Lt Col Golam Morshed, Commanding Officer of Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-15 of Lalmonirhat, said BSF for holding a flag meeting.
