Now we can be proud of our band music more than before and the reason is that Warfaze, the top hard rock band of the country is now the fourth best hard rock band in the world. Rokon Shahriar had a conversation with the band recently to get an insight into their journey so far and future plans.
It all had started in 1984 when few boys of Saints Joseph International School like Kamal, Mir, Naimul, Helal and Bappy had decided to do music together and I had joined two years later with them, said Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, Drummer, Percussionist and band leader of the band when asked about inception of the band.
'We had hard time taking the band to today's position. We used to carry instruments by ourselves and did not earn much at the inception, ' Tipu added.
In answer to the question as how they achieved this global position, guitarist Samir said, ' The site THETOPTEN.COM arranges global online voting to prepare dynamic top ten lists of almost everything under the sun. As part of that, Warfaze secured the fourth position after AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and Led Zeppelin as a hard rock band. We were in the top-ten list for last two years'.
When asked about future plans Kamal said, 'We are working on our eighth studio album to be released this year'. Tipu mentioned that they had plans of national and international tours and would formally launch their official YouTube channel soon.
'From now on we will frequently go live by the Linkus App with our practice sessions, recordings session etc.  by prior notice to our fans who use the same app.' said keyboardist Shams.
As per Tipu, band is not simply a musical group; rather it is a team with their own philosophy that will reflect in their works including lyrics. A band would survive if their philosophy would be well-accepted by the audience, said Tipu. While expressing his thoughts on our band music culture he farther added, 'Bands come and bands disappear, because, sometimes, band members leave country for a better life or switch profession, a good number of bands are thriving though.'
Warfaze produced seven studio albums and one compiled album in their total musical career. Beside, working for their eighth studio album which will be released in 2018, the band is recording another album which is a compilation of some of previous tracks and will be titled 'Pothchola 2'.
Current Warfaze lineup is, Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu (drums, percussion), Ibrahim Kamal Ahmed (Guitar and Back-up Voice), Shams Mansoor Ghani (Keyboards and Back up Voice), Naim Haque Roger (Bass), Palash Noor (Lead Voice and Instrumentalist), Samir Hafiz (Guitar and Back up Voice) and Soumen Das (Guest Guitarist and Back up Voice).
