Debate for Democracy organizes public parliament debate

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) debate team became a runner-up in the UCB Public Parliament Debate Competition, organized by the Debate for Democracy. The final round of the competition was held on Feb 24, 2019, at the Auditorium of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). At the end of the competition, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, MP, and Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, handed over trophy and prize money among the debaters. At this time, Foreign Minister stated that the government of Bangladeshis trying to resolve the Rohinga issue in a peaceful way with the help of the regional and international powers.
Tanzila Ahmad Pinky 36th intake student of CSE was awarded as the best debater of the competition. The other team members are SrimotiKertonia, 39th intake student, English, SamimaNasrin Santa, 25th intake student, Law, Shanto Roy Papel and HafizurRahmanSujon, 35th intake students, CSE.
Students, teachers and officials of BUBT along with Business School dean Prof Dr Syed Masud Husain and BUBT Debating Club Moderator Assistant Prof Md Sabbir Ahmad, were present as the audience. The Debaters immolated the trophy to the BUBT's Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Abu Saleh.
32 universities participated in the debate competition since last October 2018. The 2nd runner up team was Eastern University and the winner Bangladesh University.
