Durga Puja without Bengali taste and tradition is totally incomplete. It's the biggest festival for the Bengali people indeed as they add additional flavor to this puja with their exceptional vibrancy and colors. Festive mood actually occupies the whole country during various rituals of Puja. And no wonder fashion takes the center stage. One need different dress from different day during the Puja, otherwise it seems that the puja is not festive enough.
Since this festival is full of traditions, so your attires need to have a touch of tradition but that doesn't mean that will be devoid of style and look outmoded. So check the latest fashion trends of this season so as to make this year's Puja brighter as well better.
Most men once kept them limited to traditional red and white punjabis. But in the recent years Bangali males have gone through significant changes in their puja attire. Not only in fabric, size and design, Durga Puja fashion brings plethora of colours for them. There are hundreds of fashion houses in the city and almost all of them have brought their puja collections. For choosing the right dress from their thousands of designs you have to keep certain things in mind.
Undoubtedly punjabi is the ultimate festival wear for men. And in terms of selecting punjabi fabric is always important. As you need to remain busy to give anjali after completing other rituals of puja in the late morning, wearing cotton punjabis with light design and colour would be the best option. You can prefer silk punjabi with heavy design and deep colour during the evening when you would visit different puja mandaps from one area to another. And you can go back to your loosely fitted cotton punjabi when you would love to dance in arati time at night. This year loosely-fitted punjabis are dominating the market, but you can pick fashionable casual punjabi with slightly fitted size and experimental designs. When it comes to punjabi's colour, you can favour the colours that go well with the season of autumn. Among the light colours light yellow, lime green and sky are trending. And if you like deep colours, you can purchase maroon, red, navy blue and violet punjabis this year.
Besides, you can find your dress style in trendy kurta, churidar kurta and fatua. There are fashion enthusiasts who want to go beyond fringes and they love to wear dressy shirt and t-shirt during the festival time. They even dare to wear casual western dress while celebrating puja. It actually depends on the choices of the individuals. In terms of selecting shirt you can prefer casual designs with floral print, dressy check or smart stripe as casual attire expresses your festive mode in the best manner.
Whatever trousers you like from formal pant, jeans, chinos to traditional payjama concentrate on the fabric and size. And of course, you should be choosy about the colour. Bangali Hindu men hardly wear dhuti all around the year. Durga puja can be the perfect time for you to revive yourself with a traditional touch. And to complete your puja fashion, you must have a good pair of shoes; otherwise all your efforts will go in vain.
Both full and half sleeve shirts are available in leading garment stores and these shirts will set the trends. Different design of pockets, different patch work, double pockets with design, tie print are in high demands just like the previous year. All the reputed and local garment companies are coming out with beautiful collections of stripes and checks. Thus Casual shirts both in checks and stripes are expected to dominate this year Durga puja. Thus young boys can surely opt for them pairing it perfectly with usual jeans.
