Social Media (Facebook) are thought by some to have a detrimental effect on society and personal life as well as a local community. However, while I believe that such kind of communication sites are mainly beneficial to the individual life and also a community though they have a damaging effect on the current situation on the local community.
Concerning individual and a community, the impact that social media has clear advantages. Firstly, people can communicate with each other around the world to used social media like Facebook, whereas before the development of technology and social networking site they had rarely chance to meet with others and communicate. Secondly, a community group like the Facebook group can help us to chance to make a common platform to meet and participate in discussions with people who share common interests. Thirdly, social media make easy our life to keep in touch with our interest and make a platform to share and participate in a movement change our surrounding dishonesty and issues.
On the contrary, the effect that people who are using the social network Facebook or other social media had only be seen as unfavourable our local community in the current situation. People are choosing to take more time in online. Consequently, people are no longer forming a close relation or supportive in real life. Furthermore, society as a whole is becoming increasingly disjointed and fragmented as people spend more time online with people they never meet face to face today or future. Another important thing day by day people forget their attitude, social norms, customs and manner. As a result, increase social problem and phenomena.
Although social media have brought individual or local community closer and easy way of communication, it has an opposite feedback effect in the local community and the society. So local people should be concern about this and try to involve the local community in activities and promote their life in future.
