Four die at RMCH COVID unit with symptoms

Four more people died at the COVID unit in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the past 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, Director of the hospital, said none of them was confirmed COVID-19 positive but all had the virus symptoms.

Among the dead, two were from Chapainawabganj, and one each from Rajshahi and Natore districts.

Some 83 patients are undergoing treatment in 192-bed COVID unit at the RMCH in the last 24 hours.

During this period, 16 new patients were admitted to the COVID unit while 15 made recovery, the director added.

A total of 215 samples were tested in the past 24 hours where five people found positive for the virus, sources in the civil surgeon office said.
