Closing ceremony of "Bangabandhu Battle of Skills 2021" held in NSU

The North South University (NSU), the first ranked private university of Bangladesh, organized the closing ceremony of "Bangabandhu Battle of Skills 2021" on Saturday.
The programme was held around 6pm at the university's auditorium.
The names of top five winners have been announced from more than 2000 videos sent by the students of different universities and colleges of the country, including NSU, in this sports competition.
Professor Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor (VC) of NSU, presided over the ceremony while Md Zahid Ahsan Russell ,MP, honorable State Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bangladesh government was present as the chief guest.
Azim Uddin Ahmed, chairman of NSU trustee-board, was present as a special guest.
Among others, trustee-board member Benajir Ahmed and Tanveer Harun, Pro-VC of NSU Prof Ismail Hossain, NSU Treasurer Prof ABM Rashedul Hassan were also present.
BNCC of the university wing gave the guard of honor to the cheif guest.
Later, the chief guest Md Zahid Ahsan Russell handed over the honor and distributed the prizes to the winners.
After distributing the awards, the State Minister presented his speech as the chief guest of the function.
He said, “I thank the authorities of the NSU for naming the sports competition after the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I am glad to know that NSU organizes the big sports competition like inter-university sports program where many students from different universities and colleges participate which can be an example for other universities. I am happy to know that NSU, the only
private university in Bangladesh, has recently been ranked among the top 500 universities in the world in the QS employability rankings-2022, which is a matter of pride for us."
"At the same time NSU is doing so well in sports development and special sponsorship and it has retained the top position in terms of quality of education," he added.
Azim Uddin said, “The objective of the NSU is to achieve advanced knowledge which is not possible without a safe and comfortable learning environment. NSU authorities are committed to creating discipline among the students. To acquire this target, we pay special attention to make the students proficient in their studies as well as equally proficient in all sorts of social activities including sports."
He also thanked the NSU athletics club for organizing such a program and said the overall cooperation for NSU authorities in organizing the program in the future would continue.”
Professor Atiqul Islam said, “Programs of NSU are recognized nationally and internationally. NSU tops all the rankings. We do research jointly with many reputed organizations. The students come to a university for a good job, NSU graduates are 100 percent employed in a good position in the job market."
He added, “NSU has been ranked in top 500 universities in the world in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022. We encourage students to participate
in sports as well as social development activities to develop their talents."
Faculty advisor of North South University Athletics Club and Senior Lecturer Mr. Mehdi Hasan, general students and most importantly all the club members of NSUAC were also present at the ceremony.
Finally, the prize-giving ceremony ended with a cultural program hosted by the North South University Shangskritik Shangathan (NSUSS).
