After a long period of closure, the residential halls of Rajshahi
University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) reopened for the
students of all years on Thursday.
The university authorities welcomed back its residential students to the dormitories with flowers this morning.
They also distributed face masks and sanitisers to the students as protection against coronavirus.
Prof
Dr Md Robiul Awall, director of student welfare, said students are
allowed to enter their dormitories showing the proof of taking one dose Covid vaccine.
The students who failed to get vaccine will be provided the
vaccine facility, the director added.
Earlier,
a decision to reopen halls was taken in a syndicate meeting of the university on October
3.
All dormitories were closed due to the pandemic since March 24, 2021.
