Taijul sparks Pakistan collapse to 286 all out in Ctg Test

Taijul Islam ripped through the top order as Pakistan collapsed to 286 all out on the third day of the first Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.

Taijul took seven wickets for 116 runs in 44.4 overs.
Pakistan started the third day with 145 runs for no loss but the left-arm spinner made two breakthroughs in the very first over. He dismissed Abdullah Shafique and Azhar Ali via review in consecutive deliveries and dashed Pakistan’s plan to unleash aggressive cricket.

Seamer Ebadot Hossain bagged two wickets while off-spinner Mehedi Hasan took one.

Opener Abid Ali was the top-scorer for the visiting team with 133 runs while his opening partner debutant Abdullah Shafique scored 52.

Earlier, Bangladesh were dismissed for 330 in their first innings. The hosts now have 44-run lead.
