Abducted boy found dead in Narsingdi

Police recovered the half decomposed body of a boy at Raipura upazila in Narsingdi district on Friday, ‍six days after his abduction.

Deceased Ikramul Haque Yamin, 8, was the son of Jamal Uddin, a resident of Madhyapara village under Uttarbakharnagar union in the upazila.

Police, however, detained Yousuf Miah, 26, a resident of the area for questioning.

It was learnt that the deceased's mother filed a general diary with the police station on November 28 as they could not find him after searching everywhere in the area.

Later, a person made contact with Yamin's mother and sought Tk10 lakh ransom. They reached an agreement at Tk 5 lakh and the mother was supposed to give that this morning.

Meanwhile, local peoples potted the body with his legs tied up in a field at Madhyapara village this morning and informed police.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue, said Raipura Police sub-inspector (SI) Zahirul Islam.

Police are trying to nab the abductors, the SI added.
