700 girl students show red cards to early marriage in Natore

NATORE, Nov 26:  Some 700 girl students promised in the district not to knot in early marriage on Thursday.  
As part of their promise, an assembly was held on the Sher-e-Bangla High School ground of Harishpur area in Natore District town.     
The function was organized by District Policy Forum (DPF)-Natore in cooperation with the Policy for Dialogue. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shamim Ahmed attended the function as the chief guest while Principal Abdur Razzak, president of DPF presided over it.
Among others, Abdul Hye Pathan, head teacher of Sher-e-Bangla High School, Shibli Sadek, general secretary of DPF, and Mustafizur Rahaman, president of the school managing committee, were present at the event.
DC Shamim Ahmed said, early marriage resists growth of girl's mental and physical condition widely. He asked students to continue studies up to higher classes. Poor students whose financial condition is not favourable will be assisted for this purpose, the DC gave assurance.
After the end of the function, the girls showed red cards to early marriage.
