Month-long Bijoy Mela starts on Thursday in Ctg

A month-long Bijoy Mela will begin on Thursday at Chattogram Outer Stadium with the slogan of 'Muktijuddher Bijoy Bir Bangalir Ohongkar''.

Bijoy Mela Parishad chairman deputy education minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel will inaugurate the fair at 3 pm.

The fair will be closed on December 4 on the occasion of Prime Minister's visit in the city. The victory flame will be lit at the roundabout of MA Aziz Stadium on December 13.

The announcement was made at a press conference at Chattogram Press Club on Wednesday.

Mohammad Yunus, secretary general of the Muktijuddher Bijoy Mela Parishad gave a written statement at the press conference.

He said Bijoy Mela is being organized with great enthusiasm to sharpen the spirit of the liberation war by preserving the long-standing continuity.

Bijoy Mela Parishad co-chairman Jahangir Alam, finance secretary Paltu Lal Saha, SM Mahbubul Alam, Syed Mahmudul Haque, Badiul Alam Chowdhury, naval commando Abu Bakar, Chattogram Press Club general secretary Chowdhury Farid, social worker Farid Mahmud, Abdul Halim Dubhash, Muktijoddha Sontan Command general secretary Md Omar Faruk were present at the press conference, among others.
