Presidential election schedule Wednesday

The Election Commission (EC) will announce the schedule of the country's 22nd presidential polls on Wednesday (January 25, 2023).

Chief Election Commission (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal stated this following a scheduled meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury on Tuesday (January 24, 2023).

Earlier at 2:00pm, the CEC went Jatiya Sangsad to meet the Speaker.

Following the meeting, the CEC said it was decided to announce the election schedule. So, the EC convened a meeting at 11:00am on Wednesday.

Replying to a question, Kazi Habibul Awal said the by-elections in six vacant parliamentary constituencies would not an obstacle to hold the presidential polls.
