Explosion near BRTC bus counter at Gulistan, dozens feared dead and injured

A massive explosion has taken place with huge sound at a multi-storied building near BRTC Bus Counter at Gulistan.

It is being feared that dozens have killed or injured in the massive blast.

In a statement sent to Daily Observer Online, Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters said that the explosion happened near the BRTC Bus Counter at about 4:50pm.

Five fire fighting units from the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters rushed to spot and started rescue operation.

Officials of the Fire Service and Civil Defence said there is a sanitary shop on the ground floor of the seven-storyed building. There is an office of Brac Bank Limited. Several floors of the building have been badly damaged in the explosion.
